About

Sarah Bernstein is a German-American Singer/Songwriter. She was born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland. Growing up, her mother Petra kept their heritage close, traveling home whenever possible. When Sarah began singing and playing guitar at 13 and her focus shifted to songwriting she had her parents full support.

At 15 she recorded her first song in the studio at Mid South Audio in Georgetown, Delaware, where she would continue to release her own passion projects.

After recording her EP ‘Man in the Moon’ in Germany in 2012 and publishing her music across streaming platforms, her original song ‘Boomerang’ would go on to be a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.

By 17 Sarah was performing across Delmarva—what locals refer to as Delaware, Maryland, Virginia—and became a familiar face on local programming.

Just a girl and her guitar…” her solo act was versatile enough to suit a wide variety of stages. Despite her age, the sincerity of her music had the remarkable ability to disarm any crowd. Something amazing happened when Sarah played her originals— people listened.

After initially attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, she transferred to Fordham University where she found home in New York City. Her 2019 EP ‘Spellbound’ is an ode to her time here, now approaching a decade.

In November 2020 she traveled to Nashville for the first time to record her single ‘Till 3am’ at House of David. Despite the musicians alongside her in the studio boasting much more impressive track records than her own, their continued collaboration over her next five projects would continue to evolve her sound.

In July 2022 her single ‘Maxine’ debuted on German radio for the first time as part of Bayern 3’s Newcomer contest.

The following year, she debuted her first professional music video to her song “Somewhere in Astoria”, shot in her New York City apartment of 6 years on the day before she vacated.

In 2023, Sarah was thrilled to return to the stage and performed six solo shows beginning at The Mint in Los Angeles. She also crossed several iconic New York City venues off her bucket list, making her debut at Rockwood Music Hall and the legendary Bitter End (…twice) later that year.
